Results declared so far from last Saturday’s local
government elections in Delta State showed that
the ruling Peoples Democratic Party has won the
15 of the 16 chairmanship seats declared so far as
on Sunday.
The result for Ethiope East chairmanship was
declared inconclusive, and rerun elections will be
conducted in some polling units before a winner
can emerge.
The Labour Party’s candidate and the PDP candidate were running neck to neck with the
results upheld so far in Ethiope East, where Great
Ogboru, Labour Party chieftain holds sway.
The winners in Ethiope West, former Governor
James Ibori’s home and Patani were returned
unopposed.
From the councillorship results declared so far, 96
candidates were returned unopposed.
